Our daily routine has been disrupted due to social distancing.Most of the families are unable to settle this situation. This increased family time is a great opportunity to enhance the knowledge of children. Their interest can be drawn toward the fascinating world of knowledge by alluring salient features of life. Therefore, their minds can be changed and driven to more valuable life lessons for the sake their future. Children are bundles of energy and even if you try to hush them, their brains will be at play. So here are some recommendations to engage their brains.

1- First aid Quiz: Get your “First Aid Kit” full of required stock in it. Let your kids know, you are going to arrange “ First Aid Quiz”; and the winners will be distributed prizes in different form e.g. money, gift etc. or a promise for a picnic once covid-19 is over. You may put them in groups. Each groups containing 2 participants if the family number is touches to at least four. Ask them if they know what each item is for and how to use it.

2- Kids Money Bank: Money Management is really one of the most important quality of a man.Let them to be financially responsible in their early age. The might have not their real account any bank yet, they can learn how to deposit or draw the amount as well as what is debit and credit. Hand over some certain amount to each of them and start teaching how much to spend weekly and how to monitor their bank account balance. Parents can play a role of manager and cashier in kids’ money bank or any two kids may perform this. This will enlighten the understanding the necessity of financial managements.

3- Self-confidence:Confidence is a state of being certain. This is a feeling of trust in someone or something. To be self-confident is to have confidence in yourself. Self-confident people don’t doubt themselves.None can deny the reality, every child embraces some of hidden qualities which are exposed or remain hidden for long time till he/she grows older.

Give them different things like mobile, book, cap, pen etc. one by one and let them demonstrate their point of view on them. This will surely develop a good trait of delivering the expression a hidden quality.

4- Cleanliness:Cleanliness has a starring role in life, and should be followed by everyone. Manage scattered books, cloths and other games. Start cleaning home along with your kids. Set up sections in the house or rooms for specific things. Keep things at right place. It will inspire them as the kids follow what you do.They will learn the importance and benefits of cleanliness.

5- Food Preparation:Before you enter the kitchen cover the ground rules with children first. Wash hands in warm, soapy water before and after handling food. Pull back long hair, off the shoulders, and cover them.Assign them small task such as keeping the item in the fridge or collecting the ingredients from the store cupboard.Don’t let them lick their fingers or put their hands in their mouths, especially when working with raw foods such as cookie dough and raw meat or poultry.

Most 6–7 year old group has developed fine motor skills, so they can handle more detailed work, but they will still need food safety reminders.

8–9 years old age group has a wide range skills. So tailor your tasks to each individual’s maturity level. Teach the importance of wiping down all surfaces and refrigerating perishables such as eggs and milk, right away.

10 -12 year old group can work independently in the kitchen, but should still have adult supervision

Working as a team would help sharpening their skills; and they would captivate the efforts made to prepare delicious food. Food activity can be cherished together with a lot of time spent indoors

6- Time Management: let your kids make a time table to reap the fruits of their daily activities at home. Let them do the followings: setting a bed time, turning their routine into checklist, putting time on their side, making a plan, establishing set meal times, designating study zone etc. These brainstorm solutions would help them become more independent and prepared for the long run.

7- Laundry or washing Utensils:Grip the chance of self-isolation time to teach kids how to do laundry or washing utensils job as easy as possible. Washing utensils: instruct your child to submerge the dirty glass, plate or bowl into the soapy water or under the running water. Then, have your child remove the object from the soapy water and scrub it clean with the sponge, adding more soap if necessary. Laundry: Teach them the following: Creating child-friendly laundry area, sorting the dirty cloths, using the washing machine, using the dryer, folding clothes properly, putting the clothes away proper.

Besides these above mentioned guidelines, there are plentiful activities to engage children during available self-isolation time to boost their spirit and to involve them interested in such accomplishments for future perspectives. Moreover, family will be able to get rid of going stir-crazy from self-isolating due to the COVID-19.
